Hey The elite, I changed the sensor and the connecter and still get that shutting down. It's cold and icy here in the desert right now but when we get some more warmer weather I'm going to attempt to follow the wires back to the PCM and clean each connection. I truly feel like it is either the wiring or the PCM has gone goofy.

Do you get code 21, 33 or 45 when it shuts down?

Hey FarmerJohn,

Every time I read EEC codes with KOEO using check engine light blinks, I get different readouts.
I will get an 11 one time, then a 22,15, and 16. Another time I got 21 and 33.
So far I have found this method to be inconsistent. All EEC reads have been directly after the truck stalls.

I changed out the ignition condensor which has seemed to help. It is stalling less frequently. part number is G141 I believe.
If you follow the ninth cable coming off the distribution cap it leads to another ignition part (not sure of the name), there is a small cylinder canister mounted to the left side. That is the ignition condensor.

When my truck stalls it will occasionally loose all power, so some mechanic friends of mine have suggested replacing the main relay. I will be doing this in the next few days. Will post if it helps or not.

Good info Bud. the 11 signifies a change of mode of the code sequence, from hard codes to continuous memory etc. After the second 11, I run the KOER, that's usually where I find the 21 (ECT out of range low). That is the one that locks up the PCM and the 33 shares a common ground.

On the drivers side fender, there are four pigtails with connecters that hook the engine to the control system. Right under the self test and fuel and EEC relays. The one closest to to firewall is the sensor bundle, I found the black with white tracer wire, that's the common for the sensors and mine has been patched. It's supposed to get above freezing here on Sunday and I will investigate it further then. Thanks

I would look real close at that ground and check the voltage from the EEC relay next time you loose all power
