First thing that I see that's odd is the relay pictured is in the cab. 88 fuel pump relay and eec relay is in the engine bay. Also, the vip connecter I posted a diagram of is in the engine bay, the pin you want to ground to switch the relay is pin A. Are you saying you grounded pin A and the pump only ran for 10 seconds?

i grounded pin a to batt and pumps turned on. cranked it up and the truck ran for 10 secs or so then shut off. while making pumps run.

Just go get a code reader before you short some thing out you can`t fix. Why fix things the hard way, some say even monkey can pull codes with the clip.

I is cornfuuuused... when you ground pin A - that means to take a piece of wire, plug it into pin A and attach the other end to the structure of the truck or the negative battery post on the battery assuming the battery is not hooked up backwards.. but... like ak said may've you should just try to pull codes...

Grounding pin 6 is for just making sure the pump works and is not meant for the truck to run when grounded.

Ok its running now. It was actually a majority of things. Truck has been sitting since 2005 so wow... fuel system was basically shot. Rear pump was inop and high pressure pump didnt put out enough pressure. Both fuel and electronic relay where bad and wired wrong. ground that goes off the dlc harness was pulled off and not grounded. wire pulled out from tank selector switch and off course rotor button and cap bad....... runs ok now but.....lol trans wont go into gear. hopefully just fluid
