4 low will not ingage
My four low button does not light up or make the clicking sound, is this just the button? Or is there an actuator ?
Any help would be much appreciated

I also have this problem.
When i push the "low" button on my dash, while in 4 high, sitting still in neutral with my foot on the brake, nothing happens. The Low light does nothing, the transfer case does nothing, it just stays in 4 high.
I've tried it going very slow, while shifting into drive, backing into it, hitting bumps....
It is an auto transmision
My 94 150 goes into 4 hi fine.
my auto hubs were replaced awhile back with manual ones, I've tried it locked and unlocked, that shouldn't matter, but....
I checked the transfer case and found a vacuume/air line? on top that the previous owner must have capped off.
It has a bolt clamped into it.
I assumed this was why it would not engage, but don't want to reconnect it if it was disconected for a reason.
What is this line?
What are some reasons it could have been capped?
Could this be why it don't engage low?
What are the risks of reconnecting it?
I'd sooner not have the low range then be stuck in it
