1996 no brake lights
i have a 1996 ford f-150 that has a brake light problem. the fuse(s) are good and the brake switch checked out fine. all other lights work fine. this vehicle has two filament bulbs and they both work for for running lights and blinkers (however the brake lights will not come on while depressing the brake pedal. is there a relay or control prior to the voltage being sent to the brake lights? does the brake light voltage travel over a wire different that the blinkers since they both use the same filament?

I would still bet its the brake light switch.

i removed the electrical plug from the brake light switch and shorted the pins together. still no brake lights. I also depressed the brake pedal and measured the contacts of the brake switch. the contacts were shorted with the brake pedal depressed and open when the pedal was not pressed. help

Time to play follow that wire. Track the wires and look for any damaged sections, ensure all connectors are secure and plugs/contacts are free of corrosion.
