Default 1995 f150 300-6 MSD/Tach install

So I'm almost done with the install, juSt need to mount my tiny little tach somewhere inconspicious but functional. I use this truck to tow my Starion and my rx7. It does that quite well but with it being a 5 speed i would like to know where to set the rev limiter and the redline needle on my tach. Motor is the 4.9L (300ci) straight six. EFI. Again also 5 speed.

Thanks!

4k isn't redine, but that's as high as I take my 4.9.

My question would be... if you're towing why would you even need a redline...?

It reds at 6.5k but you start floating valves after 4300 so I set mine at 4000 also your peak power is between 4000-4500 rpm

Ok, everything is hooked up and running. I have a problem though. The truck refuse to start cold unless I use the old clutch pop trick on a hill. It will turn and is definitely getting fuel. The MSD box looks to be in perfect order. What did I do wrong?

Sounds like a starter or ignition system problem since it will pop start.
