1994 Radio Wiring Diagram?
Hi,
1994 4x4 reg cab 6 cyl 5 speed manual. Radio/cassette has been dead since Hecter was a pup as if no power. Checked the fuse ok. Took the radio out and would like to check the power. All I have is Chilton's (POS) and I can't see the radio anywhere on the wiring diagrams. Where can I get a diagram of the harness and what else should I check? I have looked around on the forum and see various radio stuff but nothing to really help in my pursuit.
I took the speakers out and they look amazingly good - I may not replace them if they sound OK.
Thanks,
HUBOTU

My apologies. I found a thread with a link and got power. Is it reasonable to assume the radio is bad? If I get a new radio, will a harness be available that plugs from that radio into the two harnesses which plugged into the original radio?
Thanks
Thanks

This photo album has several wiring & other diagrams:

If the connector shows proper voltage & ground with the key in RUN, and the radio doesn't come on, it's dead, Jim. Aftermarket pigtails to connect modern radios to these old trucks are common & cheap. I usually collect them in JYs, but they're available new from Amazon, eBay, Crutchfield, local stereo shops...

In my trucks, I like to swap in a newer steering wheel with illuminated cruise & radio buttons...

...and an aftermarket module to connect the buttons to the radio:

This is the radio I put in all my vehicles so it's easy to hop from one to the other, and the music from my phone picks up where it left off:

Hey Steve83 I really didn't need to see that steering wheel mod. No really, I have enough projects lined up right now as it is

You can swap steering wheels right after you finish the on-board air, power inverter, & bed tie-downs; and then you can move on to your custom bumpers, bed crane, & T-tops.

Thanks much for the input. All that other stuff sounds cool (except I'm not sure what a T-top is). Probably my biggest aspirations are winch and inverter. Let me get the tunes going first.
