Well, I only brought it on myself...I was bragging up my sons F150 to my Dad while we were in Tuscon, and the first day were back, it craps the bed. Ignition switch came apart (literally, in pieces!), so I went and put in a new one...but I'm getting nothing to the ignition circuit or the fuel circuit. Head lights illuminate, brake lights work, PDLs work, but no interior lights, warning lights, nothing. Here's the catch: at sometime in the distant past, it had a severe short circuit. The previous owner, instead of fixing it correctly, installed some Bubba work around, with a push button switch on the side of the dash to run the starter. THAT works, but no bang-bang, runny-runny. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for behind the dash? I have the engine diagram (Haynes manual), but nothing for the underdash harness.

Do your dash lights come on when you turn the key? Like how they would before you start it

No they didn't. Traced it down to a burnt wire in the engine bay, had rubbed through the insulation and grounded out on the chassis. Truck is back up and running. Next question: Way back when, I deleted all the fusible links in a 1990 Daytona and replaced them with a PDC with Maxi fuses. Has anyone done something similar with our generation of F-series trucks? I've never liked FLs, view them as a 19th century solution to a problem that was solved when better wiring and fuses came along. I would like to do a similar upgrade to Austin's truck. Fuses are a lot easier to change than fuse links.
