1990 F150 Ignition Drive gear
Does anyone know how much of a headache it is to get one out and a new one is...let alone being able to find one? I went to start it this morning to go to work....and SNAP...then the key switch went to free wheeling and it was stuck in the run mode. When I got off work a little while ago I pulled the ignition and got a hand full of brass chunks from the gear. If I can find where to get the gear at I think I can get it out and the new one in.
Side note: This is what happens when the old Big Six 4.9Ls have 324k miles on them, all the little crap goes bad, the motor and the C6 tranny keep going strong.

Update:
I pulled the gear out and guess what....its not that gear but the one above it is split in two...So I have to take my column apart. I do have access to a old 88-91 style bronco for parts, if the column is tilt and has cruise I might just get the column out of that, throw it in here, and use my key switch for it. Then again my luck that column will be in horrid shape

I'd like to help but honestly I don't think I understand what gears you're talking about.

If you pull your key switch out , theres a plate the **** on the back of the key swtich goes in. Pulll that plate and theres a Ignition drive gear that engages another gear on top of it for the igition actuator. The one on top, which you can only see a bit off, is snapped in half
