The screw shouldn't touch the throttle plate stop. That's a factory thing that you aren't supposed to use. I don't know why they weren't removed at the factory, but they should not make contact.
People think they can "turn up the idle" like it was a carburetor. Not. Idle is controlled by the IAC which is controlled by the computer.

As for the red wire that someone jumped in, it goes from the coolant temp

reads good.
Does anyone have any input ?
Could please tell me I have a 90 150 4.9 the 111113333 now I don't know if my codes are 2 digits or 3. If you it as 2 digits it is 11 11 13 33 3 if you read it as 3 digit it is 111 113 333. Strangely the codes are the problem in both the charts except the 333 code if it a 2 digit it is the EGR but if it is 333 there is no code for 333 in the 3 digit code s. Anyone 's help would be appreciated. The truck runs great I am just a stickler for something being perfect. I know the EGR. Is bad 1cause I am getting no vacuum at the EGR TESTED WITH A VACUUM GAUGE!! By the way the truck has 49000 true miles on it!!

On your chart are you talking about probing the wires or sticking a wire jumper in the the holes because on my truck th๗re is only one side to that plug. On YouTube videos it shows some cover on the EeC plug that guy takes off and plugs a homemade male connector in the hole on mine I had to back probe.the plug.

Also on the on the pin out chart since it only one side so you can only back pin the plug you would never be able to plug an OBD 1 SCANNER into it. If you close on the solid side that has EECTEST embossed on it if you look real close you will see 2 holes are drilled in to that side for you to stick your probe so there is nothing to remove.

Default Won't start

im a diesel and transmission mechanic I don't know why this is getting to me.
Ok no start. I took it on a test run 30 minutes and almost back and it died, cranked had spark and fuel pressure, It is a 1989 f150 5.8L auto C6,
i have spark at the coil and plugs, I have done a lot of reading in the past few days, the dist had some play in the bottom bushing so I replaced it with another dist that I know works along with the pick up and TFI module still have spark. I checked the resistance on the spout and it lines up with the book, I read the PCM can burn up, so I pulled it out and it look good, no discolor or Oder, the PCM is E8TF-12A650-AK1A (8QF)
to me it seams like it is not firing the injectors not sure, one other thing is only a 1/4" spark I think it should be more but it has always been 1/4" when I have checked the truck in the past,
so what should I look for now ? Tim
