Just ripped the oil filter. What should I do to get it off?

Good question. How were you trying to get it off when it ripped?

Everything replaced, but it wants to stall when first moving it. It also doesn't want to accelerate when moving, like it's stuck, but then it revs up. I don't expect much from a truck that sat 15 years, but come on! It idles at 1k rpm. My air ducts must be stopped up because it doesn't blow for crap!

My dumb self tried to use a pair of channel locks since I didn't have an oil wrench, but it crushed then I tried the screwdriver method and then this morning I got a wrench and it came off after crushing it and tightening down on the crushed part.

Hey all, new to the forums, I know this is an older thread, but I resurrected an 89 f150 that sat untouched for 20 years in the Canadian north. Took quite a bit of work, new fuel tanks, new fuel pumps and senders, new injectors, new heater core, new tires and windshield. Oh and the specs? It's an 1989 f159 custom (lariat) RWD 5.0l. Truck was in prime shape when parked, and is again in perfect mechanical shape. I just need paint
