Default 1987 F150 Gas Gauge

I have a 1987 F150 4 speed Full size truck. The Fuel Gas stays Above "Full" even though we know it isn't. It doesn't move at all, Even when the truck is off. Is there a way to Fix it? Or do I need to replace it completely? Sorry, I'm not very Truck savy when it comes to mechanic problems.

There's a float on the fuel pump that determines the level of gas. It's probably stuck in place. You could try a fuel additive that has some kind of penetrant in it or something that has an anti-seize in it. Hope this helps. If all else fails an expensive fix would be a new fuel pump. I had a mustang once before and that was the only way to fix it. Except it was stuck on empty. Again, hope this helps.
