Default What is the orignal floor for my ford???

I have a 96 f150 XLT with the 4.9. When I bought the truck it had old carpet as the floor and under that was bare metal. Does anyone know what the floor was like when it was made? I'm not sure if it was the fitted carpet you find in most vehicles or something different. Anyone have any cool ideas on something I could do to make the floor look nice?

Yep, molded carpet or molded vinyl. Mine has the molded vinyl and it was something like a $70 option

I wonder why someone would want to rip that out and go with some old white carpet that got ripped out of a house 😂

Strange things happen through the years.

The water pipes in my house (built in 1935) were wrapped with old news papers

newspapers used to be a fairly common thing to use as insulation. A lot of the blow-in insulation used today even uses shredded up newspapers lol

My house was built in the 40's and they used newspapers and magazines. It's really cool because they were intact when I found them. I've heard back then the heating and cooling bills were cheaper than insulation. Wish it was still that way!

I was working in a house a while back (I'm an apprentice electrician so they've got me going everywhere in the attics lol) and there was a 1968 issue of Hot Rod magazine in the attic... Literally was torn apart and pages stuck all over the bottom side of the roof. I walked around and read all the cool vintage stuff stuck to the ceiling!
