Default Rear Bench Swap

Anyone ever swap out the rear bench in an ext cab? My daughter hates riding back there because it sits too low to the floor and in the event of a rear impact her head is gonna go right thru the sliding glass window. I thought about building a seat base and using van seats back there.
Just curious if anyone has tried this? Maybe later model seats? Side facing seats like the Rangers?

The OBS rear seats have a extra pad compared to the brick nose models. Don't think it is high enough though to help much.

Here is a picture of a OBS back seat that's for sale by me you can see the extra pad above the seat.

I raised my rear seat and back with pieces of c-channel. I rarely have anyone sitting back there but it's more comfortable and I can keep things under the seat now.
