Question Gas Gauge/Tanks

I have an 1996 Ford F-150 Pickup, and the gas gauge has been going down faster than normal. Sometimes, when I'm stopped at a light then start going again, I can visually watch the gas gauge go down about 1/4 tank or so.... Then once I start going, it slowly goes back up to where it was... Don't know what that's all about.

Sooo.. My questions:
  1. What size is each of my gas tanks?
  2. What would be causing this problem?

here's a link to my vehicle VIN specs: http://www.decodethis.com/VIN-Decode...EF15N3TLB10364

That's it for now... Thanks!

Default By The Way....

I know that link I provided gives a tank size of 37.20 gal, but I have no idea what that is measuring, since I have two tanks.

That would be both tanks, for a longbed.

The gas is probably just sloshing around and moving the float. Nothing's wrong.

I think the front is 18 and the rear is 19, but I'm not sure.

They're both close. I think the front is 18 and the rear is 19 but I'm not sure. I'd have to get the manual.

I don't understand... When I went to the gas station yesterday, it was just about on E. But I only put a little over 10 or 11 gallons in before it stopped filling, and the needle was back up top. Could it be that off? (8 gallons off)?
