How did you keep track of the needle position before you pried them off? I have a 96 F150 and will be modifying the cluster to add a tach to mine. The speedo/odometer will stay, but all other guages will come from the donor cluster that has the tach. I want to do this LED mod while I have everything out, but none of the needles on the cluster that is out of the truck are at zero. How do you know what position to reattach the needles in?

Take a picture of the gauge cluster so you have a reference, as for the speedometer thats the tricky one as it moves around to re attach the speedometer needle hold the entire assembly up right and attach it resting on the little bump stop to the left under the zero. need anymore help feel free to ask! id be happy to assist you!

If I put blue LEDs behind my dash and left the green on how strong should I get them and what should the beam angle be?

It will not show through at all regardless of beam angle which should be 180 degrees only colors that will work stock is green and blue and blue comes out more of a teal color. Any other color WILL NOT WORK. Regardless of brightness the green tint only allows the green color spectrum to shine through from the white own bulb LEDs are different.

Question about scraping off the green tint: How did you keep the lines (the black part that doesn't let light shine through) crisp and clean? Does the green/white tint scrape off and the black somehow doesn't? How long did this process take? I have a old cluster that I used for practice last night. I tried the Qtip w/rubbing alcohol, and that took FOREVER. I spent about 30 minutes on one number!!! I didn't try scraping, but I guess I'm just worried that I'll scrape off some of the black as well.

Yeah, I looked at them. You don't show any pictures of the scraping off of the green tint, so that's why I asked those questions.
