Ohhh, the sleeve. I can still pull mine out by hand, but it's a pain for sure. So the stereo comes with a tool to remove it? How on earth have I missed that all these years.

Ive used my Pioneer removal tools over a few generations and on a couple Kenwoods. Your stereo shouldnt just slide out unless they mangled the cage during install.
I had to replace the factory harness ends on my F150, as they were missing, i got them from onlinecarstereo.com. Use their fit guide. Mine needed Metra 71-1770.

UPDATE: i was able to pull a wire harness connector out of a regular cab f150 in a junkyard. i also took the radio with me for testing purposes, i matched up the harness connector and it matched perfectly with the truck, i reconnected them all, the radio works but still no sound, i traced it down to needing to reconnect all the speakers with the stock wire harness. this is proving more difficult since once again the stupid idiot who had it before me cut out the stock wires. all i have to do is add some wire to reach every speaker, i got the front driver working but having a hard time locating the wires for the driver rear. did Ford run the wires through the sill plate on the side? or along the trans tunnel? i fear i might be pulling the seat out to finish this lol
