Default Where to buy color coded body side moulding

Can you still buy replacement body side moulding that is color coded to match the paint color of a 1996 Ford F-150? If not, is there a paintable OEM Ford 9th generation F-150 body side moulding? My truck is Toreador red, but the matching moulding is looking a little tattered and shabby looking.

I dont think theres color coded moulding. i think it was either chrome or black on the trucks. somone might have repainted your truck. pictures would help. Not entirly sure what your talking about.

The collector,

Below is a website that has a pic of a truck identical to mine. XLT models in 1996 came either color matched body side moulding with a chrome accent piece. Is it possible to repaint my moulding to match my nice factory paint?

if it just needs a touch up i dont see why not. however Red is one of the toughest colors to match. id recomend trying LMC truck.com however i never seen color matched moulding on any of our trucks. my XLT has the chrome along with all the other trucks ive seen.

You're only going to find Black side moldings with the Chrome strip.

OK, let me turn this in one more direction. My red molded backing is pristine, but the chrome strip is flaking off. Is that replaceable? and where to find. ('96 xlt) TIA

The only way to find the Color Molding is to get VERY Lucky & find NOS ones, and the bad part about that is you'll probably never find all of them. All I've ever found is one Piece here & another one there, and never of the same Color...........And for 'tm14930',If your Chrome Part is looking Shabby but your Color Trim Part is still looking good. You can always find some of the Chrome Decal Trim, and cut it to fit over the older looking Chrome Trim.I'd say it would look just like new,and will last a while.I found some in the Auto section in a roll.I also have a few Spots on my Trim where the Chrome part is looking a little faded,so I'm going to try going with the Chrome Decal Trim.I think it will work good..
