Default Value of steps

I'm looking to buy a set of these steps from a guy. He had them on a 95 and took them off after he lifted it because he kept hitting his knees on them. I'd have to drive about an hour to get them. He has all hardware and such to go with them. He wants me to make the first offer as he's not sure of their value. What would be a good starting offer for me to give him?

Told him $75 and he said either $125 and I drive all the to him (about 2 1/2 hours) or $150 and he will meet only part way. Either way will end up costing me well over $200. I told him I'll pass. Thanks for the help.
