Been thinking about getting out my wallet to get my windows tinted. I was also going to buy some vinyl lettering and put FORD across the front windshield but I'm not sure how far down the tint should go? I don't want the lettering to go further down than the tint. The bottom of the mirror mount is 6" from the top of the windshield, my question is do you guys that have tinted windows have the tint going down that far? Pics would be good if anybody has any of those too. Thanks in advance

I did it myself, not quite to the rear view mirror. I wanted to go down lower but I'd didn't realize it curved so much

Thanks, yeah that does curve quite a bit. That was another thing, I don't want it to be way down the windshield at the drivers and passenger side. Btw good job on the tint. I have tried and it's just something I cannot do

Its a straight piece of tint though, had to heat it up. And thanks, it's not something I would wanna do everyday but I'm cheap and I'm happy with how it turned out.

I did mine myself as well. One thing to be aware of is just to make sure it's not down right at your eye level because it gets very annoying having to either look above it or below it. There's a mark on the side of your windshield that says how far down your tint it allowed to go on your windshield below that is illegal. I've also heard that it's illegal to have any kind of tint on your windshield that's at least in PA but I'd assume everywhere else as well? Mines illegal and I've had it for a while and they've passed it in inspection with it so it's whatever

Evan yours looks like it goes down a pretty good amount. That's not past the line? My truck is in the shop right now btw so I can't check it

Ohh it's way past the line. The line is basically at the bottom of that factory blue tint if I remember correctly

I never knew what that line was, factory smoke/tint goes to it, I'm a few inches below it too.

Just for reference, I had mine done and the front goes down just barely below the very top of the mirror mount and from my seat when driving it's perfect. It curves a lot and it's about maybe 2 inches or less above my line of vision. If I look left like if I'm about to turn, the very edge is almost below eye level. I wouldn't want it any further down that's for sure Glad i didn't tell them to take it to the bottom of where the mirror mounts. That would have been too far for me and I'm only 5'10''
