Question about exhaust
Got a 92 f150 with the 302 5.0 in it and I was saving for pipes and came home from a buddies one day and saw I had dual pipes ( parents bought em ) they look nice but I guess my parents chose some pipes that wearnt the best cause it's not that loud and not very deep .. Seems to me like the pipes are just for looks cause it barely made a change in sound I want loud but deep .. I also want it to sound good .. A nice deep but loud sound when idle and then even deeper when accelerating would be perfect what do Yall suggest or have on your 5.0s that sounds good

If u want more sound you are gonna have to get a high flow cat or non . Nice looking truck BTW. Then a flowmaster, turbo, thrush welded from autozone or a glass pack is what u need. And an exhaust shop

On my 95 5.0 I put a magnaflow y pipe and cat to a dynomax ultra flow SIDO, dumped before the axle, it's pretty loud when I floor it, nice rumble at idle. To be louder, I'd probably just toss the cat, and just run a cat delete pipe instead. Chambered mufflers sound great, but don't do much to improve exhaust flow. YouTube is your friend, just search for different exhaust set ups.

What about no cats and a flomaster super 44 muffler .. This is just for now I eventually want to do a 3 1/4 X pipe with no cats and flomaster or magnaflow mufflers and 4 in tips

94 F150 5.0, JBA Shorty headers, factory pipe to CAT, Flowmaster 50 Delta CAT-back out the rear. Deep rumble at idle, nice bark at start, mean on hard acceleration, sounds great driving (not obnoxious in cab). Neighbors said they could hear it coming and going and it "sounds great".
I sold to a a guy who said he wanted that truck the first time he heard it.

No cats and Flowmaster 44s sound great! But don't change the diameter of your pipe too much. I highly recommend staying at a 2.5 inch pipe at least until the muffler, 3 inch at the most. You'll feel a noticeable loss in power if you jump it up to a 3 1/4 inch pipe. And I wouldn't even waste your money on an X-Pipe, just run true dual. Personally I like no cats, flowmaster super 44s (2.5 inch the whole way) and dump them out the side in front of the wheel wells.
