I decided to go against the wind of building my normal tube bumpers, this was my first attempt at a boxed bumper. I had a really good build thread ready to go, then I smashed my camera. but I have some pics left on my phone.

This is what I started with. I removed the bumper. Then took the two mounting brackets off the bumper. Along with the studs. Those will be re-used.

Like this. Then I used a grinder to get the edges down to bare metal.

I began to build the frame of the bumper when I ran out of gas. So I went wheeling in the back yard. For a bit and that's when I broke my camera.

I did pretty good for having those tiny street tires on.

Monday came around so my wheels and tires came in and I was able to get my tank of the welder refilled.

Here you can see I got the frame finished and the easy part of diamond plating finished.

Got a little bit more done with the diamond plate.
Went to work to use the plasma cutter for the bottom angled pieces. Forgot to take pictures until it was done.

I rhino lined the bumper inside and out, two layers to cover up some of the blemishes and welds. But I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out for my first one of this style. I have weld on d-rings that will be going on there. I just don't know where yet. Also have plans of adding a sissy bar and lights.
Questions and comments are always welcomed.

Ye I have enough scrap to do something for the rear too. I've been doing some looking for ideas. Might do the same as my last f150
