my 89 f150 has 255/70/15 tires, not knowing the orginals were 235/75/15 , i bought a new spare the 255/70/15 size. now having trouble fitting the tire in the spare holder under the truck because the 255 tire is 3/4" wider. Any suggestions.. thanks

Both bolts adjust on spare tire mount.

My 96 had 235/75/15 for a spare. I picked up a 32x11.50x15 and was able to adjust the rear bolt with an air gun, and the front bolt by hand.
