Default what type of fluid for my 5spd tranny.

I am so confused trying to find the correct fluid for my 95 ford f150 5spd it has the 302 v8. I drained the fluids to replace the slave cylinder. The rear differential looked like it had atf so I filled that with some ford atf dex merc. But towards the front on the car more where the actual gears are when I drained that it smelt and looked like gear oil so I added gear oil there is that wrong cuz now I'm reading I should add atf there too? Doesn't sound right to me it being a 5spd manual and using atf in the gear box the differential yes but the transmission gear box? Also Should that area be filled until it pours out the fill hole like the differential ? Please help.

So you used ATF in the rear end and diff fluid in the tranny???

I know I put Mobil 1 ATF in my 3650 and my T45 5-spd tranny. I also used Mobil 1 rear end fluid in my rear diff NOT ATF.
