So starting today my engine light decided to stay off for about 5 minutes and then stayed on. Would there be any differences with getting codes?

Alright so I took my buddy along with me. We the shaking started right after it went into second gear. Would this likely be transmission problem.. I'll be taking.it.up to AutoZone soon. To get codes pulled
