Default Spray Bedliner on New Fuel Tank

I have a 1992 4x4 with a rear-mounted 18gal fuel tank that I am about to replace (along with the fuel pump and fuel level sender). The replacement tank that I bought is just bare steel and I was wondering if anyone had ever done a tank replacement and sprayed the tank with any sort of spray-on bedliner to keep it from rusting. If so, anything special to consider, or just go for it and make sure to have the fuel assembly hanger mounting hole covered up? Also, if so, any suggestions on brand of bedliner?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
