Question some nube questions trany swap?

Hello guys and thanks in advance. I loved fords for years and never had any huge problems with them and now I have some nube type questions. I would have look this stuff up but I don't know how or rather what to type. I was wondering, well lets start at the beginning. I now have a 1991 with 5.0 v8 auto OD 2x4 with 51,900 miles and a 1993 2x4 5.0 5 speed with 170,000 miles. I want to take the engine out of the 91 and put it in the 93 and then make the truck a 4x4 and if possible use F250 axles/transfer case and trany that will still mount up to the 5.0 out of the 91. I am highly capable of doing the swap just not sure on if it's possible as in can it work like I want it to. Oh and since the 91 trany is hardly broke in can I use it with a transfer case. it seemed a while back when I work on Chevys that you just needed to unbolt the tail shaft housing and bolt on the transfer case. is ford like that? if so what trany will bolt to what case and bolt up to the 5.0 V8. Oh My! thank you any help will be much appreciated. I would like to buy a doner vehicle F250 for parts. springs solid front axle bigger stronger. you get it right. oh yeah what are the differences on the frame when going from a F250 to a F150 when swapping the suspension.

Goal: lifted 5.0 short bed 4x4 dump for long term use and hard use as needed

Thanks again

Default

A 4x4 tranny has a different tailshaft than a 2WD. The trans would have to be completely disassembled to change the tailshaft.
Look for a 4x4 trans.

The bellhousing bolt pattern is the same for 5.0, 5.8, and 4.9. The torque convertors are the same. The flex plates are very different.
