one of my hubs in my 1994 f150 wont lock in. it makes a clicking noise like its trying to. but it wont fully lock. if i take the hub cover off i can push the gear over the axle and make it lock but as soon as i put the cover back on it wont lock in. any suggestions?

Check the plastic peace that is attached to the sporting.mine broke but mine caused it to stay locked

Replace it, warn hubs are known to do that! A boddy of mine just had that happen to last week and we replaced it. We tried to fix it but it was TOAST!

Mile Markers, and IIRC you can use scout D44 manual lockers with the metal gear.

I'd just run out to a salvage yard and grab a couple sets. The salvage yard here only charges $6 a piece for them. And mine were $80/pair new.
