Loose shifter but not the original shifter/trans?
I just bought a 1989 f150 and it has a loose shifter. I did my research and bought a shifter rebuild kit but when I took pulled back the carpet this is what I see. I am crazy to think that this is not the original transmission? Does anyone have any advice on how to fix the play in it?
Side note: I am brand new to this forum and a pretty new DIY car person so if I posted this in the wrong place please forgive me.
