How involved is a 2.5 lift on my 89 f150? is there any bolt in kits?

Default How involved is a 2.5 lift on my 89 f150? is there any bolt in kits?

I just bought a 89 f150 and I was wondering what's involved in do a lift on these trucks? Just bolt in or is cutting and welding needed?

its all bolt on the only hard part which im not sure your gonna need with a 2.5 but you gotta grind out some ribits that are a pain but other then that its not to bad of a job give your self two days and a helping hand and youll be fine

what are you wanting to do? rough country is fine as long as your not gonna off road it real hard, and bds is the best lift but pretty pricey a lot of people like skyjacker as well

I won't be doing any real off reading just need some ground clearance for the farm here in Hawaii. Don't want to spend lots of cash but want to out on at least 33in tires on my aluminum rims

Any suggestions?

4in rough country lift should be fine for your needs

What rivets need to be ground out?? Iv been looking for that but can't find it

The pivot bushing mount for the right hand traction beam is riveted. Everything else is bolts.
Rough Country makes a pretty good lift and they're good to deal with. Not too pricey, comparison wise.
How long it takes is directly dependent on what kind of tools and equipment you have at your disposal (lifting equipment, torches for heat, air or hand tools), and the amount of rust on your bolts.
Penetrating oil applied to the bolts ahead of time is a really good idea.

If it's a 4x4, you should be able to fit 33's just with lift blocks or front springs. Doesn't get much cheaper than that.
