What gear would you recommend going with in a 92 f150 4.9 auto 4x4 to get better power torque and gas mileage. 3.08 just don't have enough power to me

Depends on tire size, and intended use. How do you drive it? My mpg went down some re gearing from 3.55s to 4.10s at least on the interstate. Went from about 15 to 13.5. But city went up and towing has gone up. And much more torquey. But your 300 won't like to rev as much as mine. What I did was play with online gear ratio calculators and found what rpm I would run with what gears, tire size, and speed. Then I played with its performance at that rpm to see how it liked running there. But with you I would imagine no more than 3.55s. 3.55s may be ideal.

My truck has 31-10.50-15 tires on it now, I only use breaks when the need it, other than that I drive pretty smooth. No jerky jerky.

3.73 would be a good gearset for that application.

What trans? I think 3.73 is a bit much for a 300 on the interstate. Depends on your overdrive ratio. You would notice a nice change from 3.08 to 3.55.

Aode has a .667 overdrive ratio, 4r70e has .70 and e4od has a .71 ratio just for your calculations.
