Does the O/D light flash when in off position?
Are you able to clear the 628 code and then without driving run test again
Is code 628 still present?

Some points to ponder:
If code still exists, problem could be with micro-farad capacitors within the
ECM breaking down. corrosion of solder in ECM, a broken Purple/yellow wire between ECM and connector C103 or C103 to Solenoid Pack Connector, dirty or wet SPC connector pins.

I am in no way an expert on this, except for personal experience. There is also a awesome write-up on installing a on-auto-off switch with protection relay for controlling lock-up over at FTE forums or Oilburners.

Yeah it's never flashed actually. But I always get the code when I check it. Thanks for the advice!

If you are getting 628 code without driving your vehicle or starting it, then your problem is electrical or electrosignal. the ecm is not receiving the appropriate signal from the TCC circuit during the self test. For a Hard Code to be store it must be present through 4 drive cycles. If this is happening prior to driving, then I would check for a wiring or PCB fault before you ripped into the TC replacement.
