A 300 E4OD will have 3 pinion planetaries; and minimal clutch packs for O.D, Direct and Forward Clutches so its not a good choice for a 5.8 application.

Having a hard time finding a trans so I might go to plan B and change it over to a 5 speed.

Going to keep a E4OD and found one from a 95 that looks good and will get tomorrow, going to make a pad for my jack that will not let the trans slip off today since that thing is heavy. Was seriously eyeing a 94 f250 with a C-6 but would need to have a new drive shaft made so it would be best to keep what it came with.

The trans looks to be a nice one, since they drain the fluid there was not much left on the dip stick but since I needed the cooler lines and cooler the fluid in them was nice and red so I think i got a good trans. The truck was bumped in the rear and looked to have been taken care of very well and thinking about going back after the 351 for a spare,if that truck was mine I would have put a bed and rear bumper on it instead of letting the insurance company take it but it would not have been there for me to get a trans. If its good it will be the best 100 dollars I ever spent.

The rear tires were spinning and I felt it shift so I think the trans is good,I have some other stuff to do while its still on the stands and it gobbled up most of the four gallons of trans fluid I bought.

That's great ! If you had to change the Manual Lever Position Sensor that may need to be adjusted. You will get late or harsh shifts if its not correct.

It went around the block today and seems to be shifting like it should but could be a little firmer,I was never impressed with the shift firmness of computer controlled trans.

I don't understand how you guys get parts so cheap. The boneyards around here charge $3-500 for most transmissions and normally, they aren't worth a crap. That's why most of my parts are new. I'm currently doing an e-fan, new radiator, pump, 3g alternator, etc. I didn't buy any used parts because I can buy new stuff for about the same price as the junk yards are charging!

Glad you got her shifting again, though.

100 dollars for any trans and 175 for a EFI motor but charged me 40 dollars for a plastic grille,I have found all the new U pull yards get a core charge for all metal parts which is kind of a pain so I still get alot of parts at the regular junkards and go to the U pull when the others do not have what I need or are too expensive. All the fluids are drained so its hard to tell what condition they are unless the vehicle is marked that it ran and drove which the one I got the trans from was not so it was a gamble.
