Drivetrains Lash: 89 f150 5 speed 4x4 302
My truck fas 109k miles with new clutch and master/slave.
The problem is that at 1300 to 1600 RpMs, there is a hesitation, or lash, when going from coasting to applying gas. It does the something when I take my foot off the gas. There is also a clunking sound that can be heard. This only occurs between 1200 and 1600 rpms. It's most prevalent in 2nd gear, although it occurs in all gears. It is less noticeable/diminishes as you go higher in each gear. Keep in mind it is only between 1200 and 1600 and occurs going from coasting to applying gas or decelerating within that rpm range, along with the clunking sound. Other than that, the runs fine !
The Mechanic says it's the tranny due to age and wear. I would appreciate all thoughts and comments.
