If you're just wanting 8 lug I believe there is a specialty place that sells the hub/brake conversion. I may be in correct though.

I have a dana 60 in the front. Which you could always go that route for your 8 lug.

I thought about doing the Dana 60 but haven't been able to find one at my local junk yards. I'm fixing to install a 6 in lift and 39.5 tsl. Hope the 1/2 ton will hold up for a while. I'm really not too mechanically inclined on 4x4 stuff still

They also sell adapters to change lug pattern for different sets of wheels if that's all your looking for.

I've been told the 1/2 front end will hold up to the 39.5 so I was just going to change the spindles to 8 lug so I didn't have to carry 2 spare tires. But the knuckles for 8 lug won't work on the 1/2 ton bc the ball joints measure out differently. Only other thing I've come up with is use 6 bolt chevy l knuckles with some grinding to clear ect. If I can find a straight axle I would go that route. But then run into the hassle of getting everything lined up welded in place ect.. I'll look into everything again. Not a big fan of wheel adapters to change lug pattern.

The Dana 50 (F250 light duty)shares a few parts with the 44. Don't know about the knuckle end but it might be worth researching.

look for an older 8 lug dana 44 front in salvage yard, or buy new hub and rotor housings for the 8 lug........its all the same bearings on the 76 to 79's whether its 1/2 or 3/4 ton

I needed to do this swap on my 94 f-150 a little while ago and ended up finding this website. worked perfect. I now have a dana 44 solid axle under it but before i did that i had just the stock TTB. The 8 lug conversion was super easy. The only difficult part that i found was getting the correct brake lines. I ended up just having some custom made for me with ford ends for the frame mount and chevy ends on the caliper end. I've got a few years on it and it hasn't given me too much trouble really. The website is just a write up of a guy who did quite a bit of research and ended up finding that this worked good.

The website is:

Let me know if you have any questions.
