Default 1989 F150 2wd C6auto longbed driveshaft

I'm having a hell of a time finding a new/remanufactured driveshaft for my truck. Mine is bent, and causing a bad shake.

All the ones I find are for the regular bed, and not the longbed. Besides a junkyard, can anyone recommend a site? I've tried all the usuals (rockauto, oreilly, autopartswearhouse, and even broncograveyard) but no one has a shaft for a long bed.

If you go to a place that works on bigger trucks, most of them will have their own driveshaft equipment. You can probably get them to replace your tube and rebalance it for much less than buying a new or remanufactured one.

Thanks, there is a "Fleet Pride" right down the street from me. I'm assuming your talking about semi trucks. Yes?

Thanks Chris for the recommendation.

I took the truck to a local shop that does all the transmission work for the local racing guys. They're extremely reputable in the community.

The driveshaft I have now is a one piece that is bent. It was about an inch too short, so the local large truck dealer (fleet pride it turns out) just added about an inch of weld all around it to try to get it to fit. I was just informed of this, so it sounds like even balancing it isn't going to have it last long, if it's even possible.

There is another guy about 20 minutes away that makes driveshafts. He is also in the same racing community, so I should be all set. I don't need a racing driveshaft, just one that is reliable and hopefully will outlast the truck now.

Might be a little too late to suggest this but have you considered a salvage yard? Check out a website like car-part.com and plug in your info and see what it comes up with. You might have a yard within 50 miles of your house that has a $50 driveshaft.

I had a driveshaft made for the truck, and it's as smooth as silk now.
