Default Who makes coil springs for my truck?

I want to replace the front springs on my '96 F150, 4X4. I've recently replaced the ball joints, u-joints, shocks, brake lines, etc., and I need to get the front end realigned. It's a long bed, regular cab, with 5.8, dual front shocks, and Off Road Package. I called Rock Auto, O'reilly's, Carquest, and Autozone. None of them can find a coil spring for my truck. Each place I called said they had, or could get them, until I mentioned the dual shock option. I'd rather not buy the Ford springs, because I'm not happy with them. I'm calling Federal Mogul tomorrow about the Moog springs.

1. What's the show stopper with the dual shocks?

2. Can anyone here recommend a spring to get my truck back to the original ride height?

Thanks!
Dan

There is no difference between the dual shock and single coil springs. They are all the same and bolt on exactly the same idk whay the stores say there different but they arnt. My truck has dual shocks and bought used springs from a truck that had singles shocks and they fit just fine. No difference at all. Everybody recomends a moog cc824 i would like to get them someday.

Thanks for the help. I contacted a rep at Federal/Mogul today. (They make Moog) He said the reason they don't list their springs as fitting F150s with dual shocks is because their springs "are a little beefier than the Ford springs". On some trucks they may interfere with the second shock absorber, especially if a shock that's a larger diameter than stock is used.

I ordered a pair of the Moog CC824s today from Rockauto.com for $74.19 shipped to my door.

Thanks again.

Trying to get a 1" lift in the front to level out my truck so I can put 31x10.50x15 on my extra 15x8 rims which I was told does not bulge the tire as much as stock rims at this size. Can I replace the coils with these moog cc824s or what is a good less expensive option?
Thanks

My springs were delivered yesterday and I installed them this morning. They are the same overall diameter as the originals and 1 1/2" taller than my worn out originals. Installation only took about an hour and raised the front bumper 1 1/2". It's back up where it belongs now.

Mine came from the factory with 31x10.5-15s and that's what I still have on it today. I'm running Goodyear Wrangler Authority's.

As far as raising it an inch with less expense than $73 springs, I don't know. I'd go with the springs. A 1" spacer under the spring would be an option, but how much would they cost?

You need to get the 1.5 inch aluminum spacer or rubber spacer and the bolt extention for it. Look under ebay and type in your yr and f150 level kit. And these trucks came stock with 235-75-15 tires not 31s

Not all of them had the 235s. I bought my truck new and there were options available. The Off Road package came with larger tires. I'd have to check my window sticker to verify whether they were 30s or 31s. I can't remember at the moment.

Default tires

True, I have 235's on now, too small, 265 are the tires on the door jamb sticker.
31 I have been told the biggest size you can add without height adjustments.
I am also just trying to get my front end up closer to level with back.
Thanks for all the info.

31x10.50 on a 2wd is the best you go with no leveling kit. With a level (I have a 2.5" which are out of production) you could squeeze 33x12.50 on a stock or 15x8 wheel. I've got 15x10s so I can't fit a 33x12.50 without more lift... wide wheel problems lol

Maybe my truck is just an odd ball but I ran a 33x10.50 on stock rims with completely stock suspension for over a month with only minor rubbing at full lock
