Tires for 1994 4x4
My door sticker says "235/75/15" tires, but when I bought it, it had 31/10.5/15 tires on it.
From what I have read on this forum it seems like 4x4's should have 265's not 235's. I think the 235's would look small too.
If I went back to 235's would I get better gas mileage or would it be less?
Thanks for any info you might have - Dale

My sticker says 235/75/15 too and its a 94' 4x4. They look really tiny. 31x10.5 would be the way to go, or 265/75r15 which is the metric equivalent.

I just put 245 75 16s 10plys on the 94 4X4 with no lift and they don't look too bad. Went with road tires for the mileage and quiet ride. I may go with the 265 75 16s later? Too tall and I'll have to drive in 4th instead of OD 5th. The 245s give me better gearing when towing and have good manners. Tall tires have given me trouble with gear spacing towing over mountains before. don't want to go there again.
