Default New Rims

I've been searching and can't find an answer to this question. There are tons of posts about newer trucks. I have a 1996 4x4 with a freshly installed Rough Country 2.5 Level Kit. I'm looking to put the following rims on it and do not know if they will fit right.

Ultra Nomad 15 x 10 Rims with BFG AT 33 x 12.5 x 15

My Questions are will they fit and how far will they stick out the side? If anyone has this setup (any rim of that size) a picture would be amazing.

Assuming you have stock, 15x7 wheels with 235/75r15's. And, looking at the Ultra Nomads with 3 3/4" backspacing, the 15x10's outer lip should stick out roughly 3" more than that of your stock wheels. The tires will stick out about another 1" to 1.25" off that outer lip as well.

Are you wanting the tires to tuck or?

One concern I would have with those wheels is that they wouldn't stick the inner portion of the tires out far enough. This would cause the inner tread to rub on the lower control arms near full steering lock.

So better off to get the 15 x 8 and get like a 10.5 tire ?

The 8" wide rims have the same backspace so you'll be in the same boat. Its really personal preference. The rubbing is just something to be aware of.

The bigger question for me would be what are your tires now, how much bigger are 33's and what is the gearing on the truck.

If its all stock, 33's might really rob some power and driveability out of the truck. Thats a taller and heavier tire for the drivetrain to move.

I would recommend keeping the rims you have, or finding a set with the same back spacing or very close to, and put a set of 31x10.5r15s on it. They're a wider and more aggressive tire size and they will still run a bit at absolute full lock, but they won't change drivability much.

I have 31s on my truck, and I work for Goodyear, so, not to sound biased but, I would highly recommend the Duratrac. Especially for these trucks. In that size they have a 50k mile warranty as well.

Also your going to be sure that your front coil springs aren't sagging too much, otherwise you may have clearance issues other than the radius arms. I recommend a bit sturdier of a spring, like he said, I ordered a set of MOOG cc824 springs.

I ended up going with some BFG's 32 x 11.50 x 15. My buddy works at Discount Tire and he gave them to me at a pretty decent deal. I also got some basic chrome wheels. I'll post pics once they are on, should be Monday the latest.

That's the size I wanted to go with but its not a common size. Plus I wasn't sure how they would do since my 31s even run a little. How does it handle?

I haven't gotten them yet... Should be tomorrow or Monday depending on when they are delivered.
