Well based on your engine and tranny, I can't recommend going any larger than 33's, and that's if you have the best possible gearing ratio of 3.55 which would be an axle code of H9 or 19 on the doorjamb. H8 or 18 would be 3.08 gears, and then I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than 32's at most, and even then....

For a more aggressive look I would go with mud terrain tires. They are noisy and they kill your gas mileage but they look good.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not worried about noise or gas mileage since I won't be driving the truck very much.

I basically want to get the best look without spending too much. I'd like a lift on it without needing to do all kinds of extra work. Then based on the lift I will know what size wheels and tires I can get.

So it sounds like I can do 33's with the stock suspension? Can I do a 4" lift without needing to do too much extra work beyond the longer brake lines? Would that require the sway bar changes and other stuff I've seen mentioned? If I do a 4" lift, then what size can I go with? And what about a 2" lift?

I'm so sorry for all of the questions! My partner threw this project in my lap and I'm just trying to find out as much information as I can to get things rolling. The truck is scheduled to be unveiled in February at a very large PA car show. Combined with the other cars we need to build for that show and our regular paying customers, it doesn't give us much time.

As for the person who asked about the color, it's currently brown. But the truck will be getting a full wrap but we aren't sure what color(s) or what design.

These are the options available - other manufacturers will be similar

http://www.roughcountry.com/suspensi...ehicle_year=81

The only easy way to "lift" it is to put on springs that raise it about an 1.5 inches or so in the front. Because of the design of the independent suspension on these trucks, lifting them past 2" becomes a real PITA - you need brackets that drop the axle relative to the frame, brackets that drop the radius arm mounts relative to the frame, and a longer arm for the steering linkage. Plus no matter how much you lift it, you will have to get a full camber/caster/toe alignment which will end up costing $150-200. No way around it.

So really, anything more than just throwing a new set of springs on the front is going to be a lot of work.

31's are the max with stock suspension. 32's are the max you are going to fit with leveling springs. 33's will require a 4" lift - you might get away with the 2.5" lift - maybe. 35's will require a 6" lift.

33's you can maybe get away with without a re-gear, depending on your gear ratios. 35's I wouldn't even consider without re-gearing.

I would figure out your budget-ish and report back - it all depends on the budget lol.

Thank you so much, that is very informative! The budget isn't really set, I just want to keep it as low as possible.

Based on what you said, I think I am going to go with the 1.5" leveling kit and some 32's.

So with that being said, what size wheels and tires do I need to look at? Should I stick with 15" wheels or go with 16"? I don't mind if the tires stick out past the fenders a little bit, but I don't want it to be too crazy.

With either 15" or 16" wheels, what size tires should I be looking at to pair with them? I would prefer to buy them as a combo, already mounted mounted and balanced, but I am not at all opposed to buying them individually and having it done locally.

Lastly, where would I find the 1.5" leveling kit? Is that something Amazon would sell? I did see they sell the Rough Country lift kit for the same price as the link you provided. If possible, I would like to purchase through Amazon just because of the rewards I earn on purchases made there. But I am open to purchasing somewhere else if the price is a lot better.

So to recap:
- What size wheels? 15" or 16"?
- Based on the wheel size, what size tires? I don't mean 32's, I mean the actual tire size to go on the wheel.
- Where can I find the leveling kit? If I do a search am I just searching for "94 f150 leveling kit"?

I've ordered the black headlights and tail lights already today. After the shoes, I just need to find a front grill that I like and then get started on the minor body work to prepare it for a full wrap. I will see what I can find in regards to other exterior improvements but overall I think what I have put together so far will be an excellent starting point and will make a huge difference. I will be doing before/during/after photos as well as shooting video of the entire process to use for our companies marketing and advertising efforts. I will be sure to post them to the forum here as well.

Thank you so much!

EDIT: I didn't even click the link you provided. I see the leveling kit on there. I am a complete moron. Thank you and please excuse my lack of intelligence!

Get a set of Moog cc824 springs from amazon. They are what I have and are universally regarded as the best bang for the buck for leveling these trucks:

For wheels and tires, I'm a big fan of ebay, but also checkout 4wheelparts.com.

Tires - choose your favorite:

Wheels:

What I would buy:

Cheap route:

You can select mounting and balancing for $50 and have them shipped to you.

There are a lot more options for wheels - they need to be a 15x8 or 15x10 with a 108mm hub bore and negative offset. The wider the wheel, the more offset you want. A 15x8 should have -15 up to -25, a 15x10 should have -40 or more. You would probably be better off with a 15x8 for a 32x11.5x15 tire (less chance of curb rash), but a 15x10 will work with no problems as well.

You are AWESOME! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

That leveling kit is a great price, I'm all over it! I really like the tire selection you gave me, too. I know I didn't mention this at all, but the wheels I'm looking for would be black with a polished lip. I have found a few styles that I like but I am still looking around for a set that I love and have a great price. Even better if they have the tires I want at an unbeatable price, too!

Regarding the 15x8 vs 15x10 debate, is the only difference how much it sticks out from the fender? Because I don't parallel park, or park alongside curbs, at all. And I think I would prefer the look where they stick out slightly.

Now, if only I could find a picture of a truck with the same leveling kit and wheel/tire size combination to get an idea of how it will sit. I guess I will be scouring the photo thread next to see if I can get lucky.

You can also cross reference these on amazon and see if they have them.
