Default It's about time for new tires...

I'm not sure if I want to stick with 31x10.5s like I have now or up it to 33x12.5s. What is the widest tire you can fit on the factory wheels. 7.5 inch if I'm not mistakes? I can't imagine 12.5s would bode too well would they? Also what brands have you guys had the most success with? I've heard great things about higher end Wranglers, BFGs, and Cooper. Which model did you go with and how have you liked them? I'm looking for a fairly aggressive on/off road tire. Right now I have Goodyear Wrangler Authorities.

12.5 are probably the max i recommend going on a stock rim.

i ran cooper ST and STT MAXX and loved them to death. i have general grabber AT2 on the 250 now and they are pretty good but iv not driven on them much.

Are the steel wheels and aluminum wheels the same width? I have the steel and for whatever reason I thought they were narrower. But 12.5s would fit on a stock rim with no issues?

i dont know the difference bettwen steel and aluminum, i only run Alcoa rims and 12.5 wide rims work on them.

my 250s rims are 8" i believe and i have 12.5" tires on them with no issues. would look better if i had wider rims though.

I'll be leveling the front end with the MOOG c844 springs shortly and I will need tires right around the same time. I'd rather not have to buy new rims too. I assume putting a 10 inch wide rim wouldn't pose any issues that the tires themselves wouldn't?

you mean a 10" rim and a 12.5" tire? or just a 10" rim with the stock tires? in either case it shouldn't be an issue, but stockish sized tires may look a little weird.

With 12.5 tires sorry. I can't imagine the depth of the rim would cause any problems that the 12.5 tires wouldn't. And I realize they might rub a bit with a 2 inch lift in the front but it shouldn't be bad. I've seen some people trim their bumper, I shouldn't have to do that should I?? I wish I could find a 31x12.5

I've ran 12.5" tires on stock width rims, it's fine. They will bulge in the middle, that's what happens when you run a wide tire on a skinny rim. I wouldn't want to go any wider either.

Maybe I'll just stick with 31s or 32x11.5s
