The driver side caliper did max brake and pgr side did nothing. This is determined by my observations (truck stopped by itself), mechanic & guy who turned the rotors. The Calipers are old. The brake job was new. It failed. My fault.
Now, I am doing a complete front axle. New calipers, pads, and KITS. My question is on the KITS, specifically the the clips. NOT the parts that hold the caliper on.
I have seen diagrams with two clips on the return brake pad and one on the same. When I rebuilt the brakes there were no clips (duh reason for failure). So I went along dumb and proud. Mistake #3.
Specific question: 1987 f150 2wd, 5.0, Front, Disc brakes, Clips, how many, one or two and where?

Rockauto has loaded wagner calipers w/ pads for 12 bucks each. Comes with guide pins and anti rattle spring. If the rubber brake lines are in bad shape, wagners are 10 bucks each. Put new calipers and brake hoses on my 92 f-150 2wd and they work great. It's a clearance sell and they need warehouse space.
