Elusive brake parts
Howdy folks,
So I decided to replace my e brake cable last week. Got all my parts in, went to work on it, took off the drums for the first time since I got the truck and I found parts were missing!
Looks like the last guy to do a brake job (not that long ago, shoes were in good shape) threw away the parking brake lever with the old shoes.
Of course since the cable wasn't attached it was grinding around in there.
Anywho, Ive been looking for a new lever and also the crossbar (don't know what it's called, but it's the horizontal flat forky lookin bit with the little spring).
I've searched from eBay to eharmony and alas, my only luck was at Bronco Graveyard. They had the lever, no bar, and it was like $30
So what I am asking is if anyone knows of a compatable part, if they are more or less universal, or where to get an original. Wish there was a junkyard near me.
Thank for reading, sorry to be so long winded

You can also get all new parking brake hardware with kit BRSK-7225-A.

Adjuster bolt might also be part / kit 2047.

I think the pieces you are looking for are called the actuator arm and the spreader bar. The actuator arm is what the e-brake actually attached to, which is also attached to the rear shoe. The spreader bar spans the drum and has the spring - it serves to push the shoes apart when the brake is set.
Don't know where you can find them - but a yard is definitely your best bet - might have to pay someone to pull it and send it to you.

Do you have the Ford part numbers for the parts you need? If not you could go to www.greensalescompany.com and get their phone number for the research line(you pay the long distance call on the research line) and explain to them the parts you need. If they have your parts you're in business. If they don't have the parts, ask them to give you the parts numbers.
If, or when, you got the part numbers post them up here. I have a list of places to search for obsolete parts here somewhere.

I don't see any reason why the spreader bar won't work for 92-96.
Pricey but I don't know part numbers.

My buddy is going to take his off the 88 f250 he's getting ditching, I'm going to see if it will fit. I'll probably try a junkyard or a dealer. If that doesn't work ill shell out the $50 online...or just see if I can find a piece of metal and try to fabricate them. Limited tools is my only hesitation to try and make one
