dana 44 ttb upgrades
I was wondering if there are any dana 44 ttb upgrades. No I am not doing a solid axle swap. I'm wondering if there are any bolt on upgrades for the drag link and tie rods. Are dana 50 ttb parts better and/or compatible? Has anyone used them on their rigs? What are the differences? Pics would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, just wondering if there are parts I could get off a 3/4 ton truck that would be more durable and fit properly. Thanks!

I THINK the 44 & 50 use the same ring & pinion but that's where the similarity ends.
Unless you have super low gears and like to regularly try to go straight up the sides of mountains, the 44 is generally more than adequate to take a 150 pretty much anywhere you want to go - if properly maintained. And it doesn't weigh near what a 50 weighs (adding the heavy parts up there is a real sacrifice re unsprung weight).
Better to put the money and effort into good cold forged u-joints and high quality bearings and seals.

Ok thank you! I don't plan on re hearing anything. I was more concerned about running 32s with some off-road driving. Just wondered if anyone has had any problems with steering parts breaking or anything. I will Defintley take your advice on the u joints and seals though.

Big thing that gets missed on those are the spindle bearings and seals. Everybody greases the wheel bearings but rarely do they pull the spindles and service the bearings and change those seals. Result is that the spindle bearings get all siezed up and the seals are all worn out so water leaks into your wheel bearings and hubs when you go through deep puddles.
