Indeed. Sounds like air in the line. I always gravity bleed my brakes before doing a regular pumped pedal bleed.

Get 4 pie tins and place them under the drip points. Open all bleeder valves and let gravity bleed the system. It should happen pretty fast. If one brake circuit is taking longer to bleed out, there might be a problem in that particular circuit.

Of course, try not to let the master cylinder go dry. Get to a point where you can see good flow from all four circuits then start shutting bleeder valves, making it a point to not let the master cylinder go dry.

After all circuits are closed, then you can start your normal bleed from R/R, L/R, R/F, L/F.
