Default 1990 XLT Passenger side rear leaf spring striking exhaust pipe

Hello, I am new to the forum so I am hoping this is the right place to post this. I have a 1990 f150 XLT Lariat. It has about 112000 miles on it and is in over all good shape. I recently started hearing a clunking in the rear end and after further investigation it appears as though the bottom of the leaf spring is somehow striking the exhaust pipe. They are separated by almost 6 inches laterally and I wasn't able to pull on the exhaust pipe and make it hit the suspension so I figure it must be the suspension moving that much. Anyone run into this problem? If so is there a way to fix it?

That should not be happening. Something is probably broken. More investigation required.

Most good shops will put it on a hoist and have a good look underneath for $20 or even free
