wont start without starting fluid
Hi, I have a 1990 F-150 xlt lariat 302....short story came home from work parked the truck. Went to go to work in the morning no start, not even a hint.
I got it started with starting fluid but it would only run very rough with no power.I've chececk the fuel system and all seems fine.I had recently installed a new used distributor and thought somehow that is causing my issue. Oh and I've replaced the egr map and tps. No cel any ideas ? 'm banging my head on the shop walls trying to get this figured out.

You can check the fuel pressure with a gauge. Wouldn't be the first pump that stopped pumping in a short time. Ask me how I know that. You won't know anything for sure until you put a gauge on it.
Key on engine off you should be looking at 40+psi. Less than 30 psi, she ain't gonna go.
Can you hear the pumps priming when you turn the key ?
And the TPS - needs to be adjusted to .9 volts output at the signal wire. A faulty or poorly adjusted tps can signal the computer to shut down the injectors.
