What year will '95 302 fit w/o modification?
Hey guys. I am new to this forum, hoping to get a question answered. I have messed around with engines a bit, but never changed one. I have a '95 F150 2WD with a 302 in it. I am starting to pull the engine out to rebuild it. It is time to breath some new life into this thing. So, I started thinking last night that since the body and interior is starting to look pretty ratty also, why not hunt for another F150 that's in better shape but the engine is blown. I have seen a few advertised around here in the past. Anyway, my question is: Are there other years older than a '95 (say 93 or 94) that this 302 of mine will drop into without any motor mount modifications, etc.? I don't want newer than a 95 since North Carolina requires emissions testing on 96 & newer. Any advice will be appreciated.

302 is a 302. Heads changed a little here and there, cams, intake (mostly sensors) etc but they're all basically the same thing.
95 will be a 302HO roller cam motor, but it will fit in wherever a 302 used to be without too many mods at all. Few minor details like distributors and distributor gears, firing order etc., but nothing that can't be dealt with fairly easily.

I have a similar question, I have a 1995 f150 with a 351w, I was lookin at a crate engine and they said they were using blocks from the late 70s to early 80s. Would that require any modifications to make it fit or are the mounts the same?
