Default Is there a way around a MAF for aftermarket cam? (cheap)

Hello guys im new to this forum.. just bought a 91 with a 5 liter and I was toying around with the idea of putting a cam in it (E303) but after doing research I found that this cam aswell as others will have a horrible idle and poor performance without a maf sensor so I looked up doing a maf harness setup that came with a CAI O2 senors pcm and other jazz that added up to $1500 so Im wondering is there a cheap way to make a after market cam work with this style EFI ( my goal is to gain low end to mid power i will probably tow a little with it but i want a lumpy idle) Its a stock motor! PLEASE give me u guys thoughts
