Last week, I was driving my f150 going about 50 when it started to slow down and when I stepped on the gas, I got nothing. The check engine light came on at this time and then when it shut off, it ran fine until it did it again about 10 min later. Took it to the shop and they said it was an o2 sensor but I'm doubting that. Please help

Could be O2 sensor, but before throwing parts at it I would pull the codes from the computer. There is a sticky thread at the top of the 87-96 section that tells you how to do it - or you can buy a $25-30 code reader.

Mine was doing something similar. Anything more than 5-10% throttle it would choke out and my check engine light would come on and off. Replaced plugs and wires and some other little things and didn't help at all. Eventually narrowed it down to my fuel pump.

I was having a similar problem with my 91 5.0 where the check engine light would come on and i would have a loss of power. try unplugging the 02 sensor(s) and let us know if it helped.
