Oil pump removal on 95 5.8.
So I trying to remove the oil pump and shaft from truck to replace. All the bolt are off (what fun) but now the shaft will not allow the pan to come out. Any ideas? Or am I missing something.

Nvm I got it out. Found a thread on a bronco forum that said to rotate the crank. Finally got it the pump and pan out. Is there anything else I could check on while I have the bottom end open. I'm pretty sure the rear main is leaking, but I don't wanna pull the trans off. Since this is just a winter beater and the body won't make it much longer

A lot of times the reason the rear main leaks is because the PCV isn't working. Pressure's gotta go somewhere.
Make sure to put the gaskets in between the pump and block and the pump and pickup tube.
Not a whole lot else to do down there.
Make sure you use RTV type sealant in the 4 corners installing the new pan gasket.
